Temporary Hiatus

24th of July 2012 (Tuesday)

As a kid growing up, there comes a point in life when you are coerced by parents / peer pressure to give up some of the creature comforts of your life that are deemed... childish and is seen as a step towards maturity and the next phase in your life. All that is very well and good, but it is that exact moment when you have to make the choice to let go, that exact moment is the one I dread the most. It feels like you are saying an eternal goodbye to a very old friend, that you are betraying yourself for giving up on something that you feel defines you, that your comforter has outlived its usefulness and you are moving on to better things.

Sometimes all you need is your blankie

No, I'm not donating my boardgames to charity yet nor have I hung up my boardgaming gleekness for good, but I am going on a temporary hiatus from boardgaming which means that there will be less updates and less posts about boardgames on this blog from here on out. I have yet to contemplate if I will be posting about any other of my pursuits in life here but let's just say for the moment that all future plans for this blog do still involve boardgaming, the key word here being 'future'.

You gotta turn off sometimes

So how temporary is temporary? Well I'm not entirely sure but to be honest, I'm already going through withdrawal syndromes. Regardless, it will probably be at least a couple of months before my first test run at a game night.

So I guess the next question is why. Well, I'm starting a new project to train the next generation boardgamer! Needless to say that we are taking baby steps with our young padawan, and the first of which are, that she needs a lot of cuddles :)

Introducing... Padawan Junior! Padawans aren't supposed to be allowed cutesy dresses...
